FAQs

Welcome to the FAQs for your personal branding shoot! Whether you're looking to make a mark or seeking a fresh set of photos for your business, you've come to the right place. This guide covers the essentials—what to wear, hair and makeup tips, timings, locations, and more. Let's dive in!

1. What Should I Wear for My Personal Branding Shoot?

Choosing the right outfit is crucial and that is why include a 45 minute session with Karen of Style By KPA to get you ready to show up with flair!

  • Reflect Your Brand: Consider your industry and personal style.

  • Colour Coordination: Avoid anything with logos…. no hoodies or tracksuit bottoms (unless of course you are a fitness specialist and that’s your go to!) Bring your personality and vibrance and become a peacock!

  • Multiple Outfits: You will need 3-4 outfits depending on length of shoot. This gives you options for different backgrounds and settings. I send Karen your mood board to give her ideas on how she can guide you with your outfits.

  • Comfort Matters: Choose outfits you feel comfortable and confident in. This will show in your photos.

2. How Should I Do My Hair and Makeup?

Hair and makeup can make or break your shoot. Here's what to consider:

  • Natural Yet Polished: Aim for a look that feels natural but polished. You want to look like the best version of yourself.

  • Professional Assistance: If possible, consider hiring a professional makeup artist and hair stylist. They know how to create camera-friendly looks.

  • Long-Lasting Products: Choose long-lasting makeup products, especially foundation and lipstick. This ensures you look fresh throughout the shoot.

  • Hair Styling: Keep your hair neat and styled, but avoid overly complex styles that might not hold up. Soft waves or a simple updo work well.

3. What Are the Ideal Timings for the Shoot?

Timing can impact the quality of your photos. Here's what I take into consideration:

  • Golden Hour: The best times for outdoor shoots are early morning or late afternoon when the light is softer and more flattering.

  • Schedule Buffer Time: Plan extra time for hair, makeup, and outfit changes. This helps reduce stress and allows for a relaxed pace during the shoot.

  • Weather Considerations: If we are shooting outdoors, I will check the weather and have a backup plan in case of rain or extreme conditions. This may mean re-scheduling worst case scenario.

4. Where Should the Shoot Take Place?

The location sets the tone for your branding shoot. I will carefully consider you, your personality, brand and business to find the locations that will fir your shoot:

  • Your Workspace: Showcasing your work environment can help tell your brand story. This could be an office, studio, or home workspace.

  • Outdoor Locations: Parks, cityscapes, or interesting architectural spots can add variety and context to your photos.

  • Professional Studios: For a clean and controlled environment, a professional photography studio is an excellent choice.

  • Mix and Match: Combine indoor and outdoor locations for a diverse set of photos.

5. How Long Will the Shoot Take?

The duration of your shoot depends on which package you have chosen:

  • 90 Minute Shoot: Two locations and a couple of outfit changes will spend at least half a day together.

  • 3 Hour Shoot: We will be exploring multiple locations and outfit changes, expect the shoot to last 3-4 hours or more, this will be a full day together to incorporate breaks as well.

I will make sure all locations and timings have been structured before the shoot so you know exactly what to expect and you don’t need to worry about anything.

6. What Should I Bring to the Shoot?

Prepare for the shoot with a well-stocked bag:

  • Extra Outfits: Bring a couple of additional outfits for variety.

  • Accessories: Include jewelry, belts, scarves, or other accessories to mix things up.

  • Hair and Makeup Touch-Ups: Bring a brush, hairspray, and a small makeup kit for touch-ups.

  • Comfortable Shoes: If you're wearing heels, have a pair of comfortable shoes for walking between locations.

  • Water and Snacks: Stay hydrated and energized during the shoot.
